Still no pictures...well, one.
Still no pictures because all my picture time is being devoted to my Montessori Sensorial Album, unless you would be interested in seeing pictures of Montessori Material. Hm, let's test this out.
This is a Montessori Cylinder Block. It is in fact Cylinder Block 1. There are 4 blocks. Montessori says it is the first Sensorial work that attracts a young child around the age of 2 1/2 to 3. It has multiple funtions. First, it allows exploration of dimendion. This block has cylinders that change in thickness, other blocks have cylinders that change in height. The materials are self correcting, if the cylinders are not put in the correct hole in the block, the child will not be able to fit all the cylinders back in the block. So the child is free to experiment with inserting the cylinders without an adult offering corrections. The child is shown and encouraged to pick up the blocks with a pincer grip which strengthens the hand for writing.
Yesterday I did 3 photo layouts for my album. I am currently working on illustrating the Geometric cabinet presentations. I also took my notes for my reponse/summary of 4 chapters from The Montessori Method. This afternoon I will write the summary from my notes. I still have 3 more summaries to write and then my 4 page introduction to my album.
Still no, knitting happening. I do have a session with my personal trainer this afternoon. I want to discuss agility work with Dave today.

were all unharmed and you were able to find a place for Pansy to live!
Thanks so much for the kind words about my "appearance" in Spin Off - my
copy was at home waiting for me today :) I've seen those Montessori
cylinder blocks before - I had no idea what it had been designed for!
