A Realization

posted Tuesday, 25 March 2008

I realized yesterday that the reason I haven't been posting at all is that I feel like I need to Post pictures everytime I put up a blog entry. I know that I don't have to,but I like to put up pictures. I haven't had time to work with any non Montessori training pictures lately, so no blog posts. Realizing that, I can now push past it and post some text only entries until my time frees up again so I can add some pictures.

I have been taking LOTS of pictures, but they are all of Montessori materials, I am in the last 2 week crunch time for getting my Sensorial album together. It is coming along but I have to keep devoting lots of time to it. I still have a few summary papers to write on the readings before I can write my introduction.

Pansy update.  Pansy is staying at Merieke's barn. When we moved her there the day the barn in Newfane collapsed, it was suppose to be temporary, but my student, Emma Marie has fallen in love with Pansy. She gives her kisses on the nose and likes to groom her. We have put Emma Marie up for 2 rides on Pansy already. So Merieike asked if I would consider leaving her there. I had looked at a barn less than 5 miles from our house but I like that Pansy will have a little girl who spends time with her.

Merieke is going out of town next week, so I will be cleaning stalls and feeding and bringing in the horses. This afternoon I get a lesson in handling her stallion, Versace. He has good stable manners, but there are some tricks to managing him.

As if I don't have enough to do, on the SCA front, yes, I am autocrating coronation, but that is going reasonably well, although I am having trouble filling a couple of staff positions. James was asked by Her ROyal Highness to join her Rapier Guard. He was asked to hace some Mongolian clothing (a del) to wear for coronation and during the reign. ON Saturday James and I went to Rochester for a del workshop. I have patterned out a del for James, and for me. I will still have to do one for Bill. Fortuneately it is a quick sew.  James is getting one in wool and one in linen. I am making myself one in wool to wear at coronation as it is likely to be cold. Bill wants one to wear during the reign, his will be linen. The sewing will get done AFTER I turn in my Sensorial Album.

On the knitting front, I am stalled out by lack of time. I finished the first of the March knee socks, but I am not pleased with the heel, and had to order more yarn anyway. I want to cast on a shawl and finish a pair of mittens but I am severely lacking in time.  Next week is knitting guild and it is the mini seminar meeting. I will get some knitting done there (unless I am so crunched by work on my album that I can't give up the 2 hours.) but it will be class knitting and not my projects.

Have a great day
