OK, I like snow, and I like winter, but there isn't enough snow left to ski, and it is spring so it can stop now, We have 2 new inches on the ground this morning. I ened the ground to dry up for the equestrian activities at coronation in 2 weeks.
This is the pink tower material from the Sensorial area of the primary Montessori classroom. Except that this one is missing the smallest cube, there should be 10 cubes the largest is 10 centimeters to a side, the smallest is 1 centimeter.
The direct aim of this material is to seriate (or grade) the cubes horizontally or vertically.
Indirect aims are to develop muscular and visual discrimination of volume, to develop concentration, to develop an awareness of spatial relationships , to begin to develop an understanding of base 10 system of math and to develop the ability to sort.
THis is a popular work for children and you can tell by the condition of the cubes that it is well used.
The smallest cube tends to disappear into pockets.
Last night I wrote my summary for the Montessori Method and put to gether a few pages of illustrations.
Yesterday I also went to the gym and worked with my trainer. We worked on agility exercises, ways to improve my L sits on the paralletes and then he put me through a timed workout. The workout was sets of 40,30,20 and 10 of jump tucks and push ups. I completed the workout in 12 minutes and 36 seconds.... go me.
I also went to the barn and since the arena was just dry enough to work Pansy, I did. Still lots of boot sucking mud, so I lunged her instead of riding. I can tell she has lost some conditioning while we couldn't work.
This weekend will be a major push to complete my album and write the 4 papers( Including album intro) that I have left. I can't wait until I have time to knit again.
Have a great day
